Costume Technology
The Revolutionists
by Lauren Gunderson
As part of my job at the Harper Joy Theater costume shop, I was in charge of constructing Marie Antoinette's gown for a 2021 production of The Revolutionists at Whitman College. I included photos of the process, which included making a bodice mock up, pattern matching the pieces on the final fashion fabric, adding boning channels and flat lining the bodice, and adding piping.

I was the lead cutter for a 2021 production of The Penelopiad at Whitman College, as part of my job at the costume shop. I also used the slash and spread technique to manipulate the patterns for the colorful silk dresses, which I have included photos of above.

More Projects
Above are photos of other projects I have done, both for productions and personal projects. As well as sewing costumes, I have also done distressing and dye work. In my free time, I like to crochet, practice my mending and repairing skills, and sew bags and other items for my friends and family.
