Fashion History mUseum internship

I interned at the Fort Walla Walla Museum as textile collections intern from 2021-2022. The main focus of my internship was updating their Heritage Fashion Runway, a place to display historical garments from their collection. I worked on every step of the process, from doing extensive research on my chosen topic (dresses from the 1920’s), selecting and arranging historic garments for display, to writing exhibit signage and communicating important fashion trends and their historical context. Through my internship I also learned about accessioning artifacts, artifact storage and the inner workings of a local history museum!
